Resetting the Dexcom 7 receiver

This is just a short post that I promised earlier today.

I've posted a video to YouTube that shows how to reset the Dexcom 7 receiver to tell it that the sensor has been removed. You can do this if you want to end a sensor early.

The second part shows how to tell the Dexcom 7 receiver that a new sensor has been inserted. You can do this whether or not you have actually replaced the sensor.

I hope you find the video is helpful. Sorry it's a little shaky.

i'm starting my one month trial on the dexcom 7 next week. Thank you so much for sharing information on CGMs on your blog. It is making the research process a lot easier for newbies like me.

BTW, i found that Dexcom and Animas will readily do trials. Medtronic will not, in spite of me offering to pay for the sensors.

Hey Bernard I was wondering, now that you've had the Dexcom 7 for awhile, whether you feel it is worth the increased price of sensors. Do you find that it is more accurate and more reliable?

I am trying to decide whether to upgrade, and am really annoyed that they basically doubled the price of the sensors. Sure, they last 7 days but I usually get around 10 days out of the old ones anyway. And they seem pretty water resistant, too. Those seem to be the only real advantages unless they are also giving out the raw data.
